Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning

How old is the art of HVAC? History shows that the Egyptian ruling class used slaves to fan their masters; an early discovery of "evaporative cooling." The early Romans engineered ventilation and heating panels into their famous bathhouses. In the Middle Ages Leonardo Da Vinci built a water driven fan to ventilate rooms in the house of a friend. The first United States patent for a refrigeration machine was granted in 1851.

From the time of that first patent the Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning industry has grown and changed constantly. Each year brings new products, improved applications and of course increased "governmental regulation".

Shoffner Mechanical & Industrial Contractors spends thousands of dollars each year         to train and educate our personnel on the latest systems, designs and operation,             as well as installation and maintenance procedures.

At Shoffner we feel strongly that it is important for our people to understand how a specific system works. Many times this will eliminate installation errors and uncover potential design flaws. Thus giving our customers an HVAC system that works correctly, from the very start.

With regards to HVAC systems commissioning (start up) Shoffner offers a unique program. We have a staff of "full time"    start up technicians. These technicians do not perform routine HVAC service, as well as systems start up, they perform  HVAC systems commissioning ONLY.

This continual familiarity with new system start up and the related problems allows our personnel to be just a little bit better than those of our peers.

Whether your needs are for a simple small "direct expansion" split or packaged system,    a fan ventilated and gas heated warehouse, or a complex industrial facility with centrifugal water chillers, steam boilers, and intensive Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems, Shoffner has the knowledge and experience you require.
